2. Doing Things for Emotional Reasons - People do things for emotional reasons according to this weight loss system. Even if something is bad for you like a certain food, you may eat it anyway because it's emotionally satisfying at the time.

Program Yourself Thin says that people do things all the time, which are actually harmful because the emotional gratification of the moment overrides all rational arguments they may exist in one's mind. The program says this is a crucial reason people do things, which cause themselves to gain weight.

So you want to lose weight? The issue is not can you, for you can. The issue is how, and how effectively and easily.

I agree there are probably countless quick fix programmes around that may work for a few, but how many can you trust? Bear in mind that amongst these quick fixes there are genuine weight loss programmes that with the right attitude will keep you fit, trim and healthy.

My aim is a series of articles explaining reasons for weight gain and ways to lose it, and keep it lost, naturally.

You may try, lose some, then, it comes back with a rage. There are reasons why weight loss programmes fail. Knowing a bit about the nature of our body and our mind can help understand these reasons.

Since the dawn of civilisation, even probably before, the powerful, the successful, the leaders, knew how to use their mind for advantage, even though they may not have understood why. They used it and it worked. Now we understand more about the subconscious, the part of our mind that kind of works in the background. It controls our bodily functions without us consciously realising. In a sense it's the habit part of us.

The often given example is driving. When you first learned to drive you had to think about everything to keep the vehicle going in the way you wanted to, safely. Mirror, indicator, manoeuvre, were consciously thought, as well as observation for other traffic and guidance along the road. Eventually these become a habit, repeated so many times that your conscious mind no longer has to think about them. Your sub conscious runs you on auto pilot to carry out the manoeuvres. You must have, at times, driven a distance without realising the ground covered.

What does this have to do with weight loss? How can you think yourself thin? Make it a habit. Use the subconscious. Use auto suggestion to help your sub conscious mind reprogram yourself into the habit of eating healthier foods, and even enjoying exercise. Program yourself for success with weight loss, not failure. Program yourself to stop the negative thinking that will enter your subconscious which in turn will discourage you from your weight loss aim.

The following technique I have learned about uses autosuggestion to change those negative feelings of always being overweight to feelings of encouragement to keep to your goal. It may seem crazy, but it is based on valid science. You may not believe, but try it. Remember it's a way of changing your habit.

Step One. Think about what makes you feel you'll always be overweight. An image will come into your mind. Maybe you see yourself eating that unneeded snack or sitting cosily instead of going for that walk.

Step Two. Pay attention to this image. This is your subconscious telling you what thought holds you back in your quest for weight loss. This is the image that you habitually put into your sub conscious. You have programmed yourself to think this way and that's why it is so easy to give up on diets when things get a little tough.

Step Three. Fade the image away by draining out all of the colour and let it move into the distance and disappear. At first the image will probably reappear. Just repeat the process. Fade it, drain it, distance it.

Step Four. Create a new image of what you really want to be like. Fit, healthy and slim. Get emotionally involved with the image. Think of how great it would feel to have lost all the weight you want to. Make it full colour and bring it closer to you.

Step Five. When you get this great feeling, that rush of excitement, hold your thumb and middle fingers together. This creates a mind anchor in your subconscious.

The anchor will eventually be established such that whenever a negative weight loss thought enters your mind pressing thumb and middle fingers together will stimulate the exciting feeling of being your perfect weight. Try it. You have nothing to lose but a bit of time. You will think yourself thin.

5 Ways To Think Yourself Thin

Wouldn't it be nice if you could actually think yourself thin? And leave all the grunt work and sweat at the gym, along with the guilt?

Well, YOU CAN!

You have to believe in yourself before you can attain your dreams. How you talk to yourself has an indelible affect on your self esteem and self beliefs.

Think back to grade school: Remember the story about "The Little Engine That Could?" That little engine kept telling himself I think I can...I think I can......and in the end...he did....

The same that you can do for yourself...by telling yourself yes you can.... yes you can.....yes, you can lose the weight that you want to lose.

Too frequently people beat up on themselves when they do not do things perfectly or if they have a "slip" and do not follow a program exactly as they should have.

What the CRITICAL part of that equation is how they talk to themselves about it. If they keep telling themselves they have no willpower...then guess what? they won't have any...

At the same time..If they tell themselves they CAN DO IT.....guess what...they will!

Either way: you are right! How you talk to yourself...and what you say to yourself...will determine what path you will go on.

Since we want to WIN at the weigh in, here are positive ways to think yourself thin:

1.Congratulate yourself everyday! My husband is very good at this. He will be the first to say how good his project came out or how well he did at it. He positively reinforces himself all the time. He has no weight issues. You can also give yourself small little rewards and perks on your journey. It helps to keep the motivation going and insures your future success.

2. Forget Perfectionism. Remember this: Done trumps perfection every time.! Perfectionism is one of the hardest things to achieve for so many people. If they are not "perfect" it is not going to work. I can assure you that most of life's accomplishments would not have been accomplished if those people believed they had to be a perfectionist.

I always advise my clients to think of when they were children and they were first learning to ride a bike. Did they just hop on and ride perfectly the 1st time? NO WAY!

They experienced a few falls, a few bumps, gradually learned to balance better and better, and then to go faster, and how to negotiate curves, etc etc etc......they gradually learned and got better and better. Until they could go it alone.

So it is with weight loss. Life happens on the way to goal weight. No 2 days are exactly alike. So you are writing your script as you go. How your day goes, is how it goes in the plan. Period. NO right or wrong....just the way it is. What you do next is what is important. It is how you react to what happens in your life......that will determine your ultimate outcome.

3. Finish, finish, finish what you start! Following up is important. If you never finish what you start, you will never experience that sense of accomplishment. That oh so good feeling that you are worth something because look at what you just accomplished. Being your own best cheerleader and believing that you can is good...but you have to follow thru with action! You will need to eat less and move more in the overall picture. But how each day plays out....that is a script that you will be writing as you go.

You CAN think yourself into the right frame of mind to optimize your weight loss. Yes you can. Yes you can.

4. Affirmations keep you moving forward. Positive Affirmations are one way to reinforce your self-belief. Simple, self validating statement repeated as often as possible, preferably daily. You keep reinforcing to yourself all the good changes in your life and how good it feels to accomplish them. You can...and you will....succeed. Take 10 minutes and write out on your calendar what affirmation you are going to practice each day for the next 30 days. You will be incredibly pleased with your progress.

5. See yourself accomplishing the task: visualize it! Ask any famous athlete ( Michael Jordon used this a lot) or Olympic winners and they will tell you how important it was for them to be able to visualize their success. They could SEE themselves winning.....therefore they knew it could come true...because if you can see it.....it can become a reality.

The same is true for YOU and YOUR WEIGHT LOSS. Take a moment each night before you fall to sleep...and visualize yourself winning at the weigh in. And soon you will find yourself doing more and more each day that takes you nearer to your goal.

What You See Is What You Get... See Yourself Thin Here's How

So many people embark on a weight loss program armed only with the tools to physically lose weight. They exercise, eat better, drink water throughout the day, but the weight just doesn't seem to budge.

Many people do not realize that losing weight often begins IN YOUR MIND. If you don't mind, it don't matter. That means, if you don't set the "new you" photo in your mind... the matter gets fatter. It is just that simple! So how do you SEE yourself thin when you weigh more now than you ever imagined you might? Or, if you've been carrying extra weight from childhood and you have never seen yourself thin; what then? Here are some tips to help those of you who haven't been able to beat the bulge:

First, decide right now, that you desire to be thinner and more healthy than ever before.
Next, find a picture of yourself when you WERE the perfect weight, or close to it.
Then, make copies of that photo; make at least ten copies. If you do not have a thinner you photo then cut out a picture of someone in a magazine who has a thinner body and put your face on it. Even this can work! Science proves that self-hypnosis works...and that is what you are going to do!

Put a "thinner you" photo in your pocket/purse, on the refrigerator, in the car, at the office, in your desk, on the TV, next to your bed, next to your favorite chair/couch...you get the idea.
Now, every single morning before you get out of bed hold that night stand photo in front of your eyes and stare at yourself. Remember all of the things you loved about being thinner.
Think about all of the fun you had because you were more active. Remember the feeling of seeing your feet when you looked down, of getting in and our of your car with ease. Remember the feeling of dancing, running, swimming, biking, hiking, bowling, playing your favorite sport. Stare at yourself long enough to SEE that impression in your mind's eye when you close your eyes now. Just for a few seconds close your eyes and SEE yourself as you were in that photo. Smile and appreciate who you are.

Now write down all of the reasons that you DESERVE TO BE THINNER. Think about how it will change your life for the better. Take time now to write a list of all of the benefits of losing weight. All of the benefits of getting fit. Think of how it personally affects you first, and then how it might affect others in your life. If you are a parent who is unable to walk to the playground with the stroller, or take your child on an amusement park ride because you cannot easily fit in the seat, think of the parenting benefits. Is your love life suffering? If you are younger, is dating a concern? Have you always wished you could participate in some activity but felt uncomfortable because of your weight? Are there some styles of clothes that you have been wanting to wear? So you might write this: "I deserve to be thinner because I will have more energy to...." or "I deserve to be thinner because I am worth it" or "I deserve to be thinner so that I can take my children to the zoo" or "I deserve to be thinner because I want my sex life to improve." Say whatever it is that will motivate you. Write in your journal every day.

In your mind's eye SEE yourself participating in the activities you have been longing for. FEEL the wind as you ride a bike, HEAR the music as you see yourself dancing, or children screaming from the thrill of riding with you in the amusement park. Look at yourself shopping for that smaller size at your favorite store. SEE the smile on the faces of your loved ones as you enter the room with your thinner body.

Get a small pocket-sized spiral binder now and write the following twice per day, preferably morning and before bed: "I love and respect my body." "I am now giving myself permission to lose weight safely." "I am now making wiser choices every day." "I am worthy of being a healthier weight for my height and age." "I can and will succeed" "I now remember the feeling of being thin" or "I can imagine how light I will feel" "I love life and want to participate in many activities" "I am now getting thinner easily" "I now fill myself up with positive thoughts" "I crave only foods that are healthy" "I am the perfect weight now!"

Next, remember that the thinner you IS present. Even though a fuller you may be reflected in your mirror, the thinner you is hiding right there. So, coax the thinner you out a little bit each day. Go shopping for smaller clothes, look at the Size Tag and SEE yourself easily fitting into that smaller healthier size. Remember the FEELING OF BEING THINNER. I do not suggest getting on the scale too often. Let your clothing be your guide. When you drop a size immediately GIVE AWAY those clothes. Do not mentally sabotage yourself by thinking that you might need them. In other cultures people don't have a variety of sizes in their closets like we do here. They stay thinner because they have to. Americans tend to be preoccupied with food; we use it to soothe ourselves, to entertain ourselves, and to basically make ourselves sick. GET A HOBBY !! Find out what it is that makes you energized.

Finally, look into joining a health club, or sports team, play golf, start a walking club, go dancing once a week, bowling...whatever you do, get moving! Everyone is capable of improving their lives to some degree, make a goal and focus only on the outcome you desire. Do not let anything else become a reality. SEE THE THINNER YOU starting now.

Visualize Yourself Thin

Visualization works for everything else. Why not visualize your perfect body - thin and fit and toned? As you visualize your perfect body at your ideal weight, you are actually creating it. In accordance with the Law of Attraction, the process for attracting and creating your ideal body is the same as for attracting and creating anything you desire - focus on what you want until you bring it into being. As you visualize yourself thin, voila, you will be thin!

Become a Magnet for Your Perfect Body. Visualization is such a powerful process because your subconscious mind doesn't know the difference between something that is real and something that is vividly imagined. As you visualize yourself thin, you become a vibrational match to your desire - you actually become a magnet for a thin body. As you consistently imagine yourself thin, you are creating that exact image.

Visualization is the key to intentional creation. Because your mind thinks in pictures and images, as you visualize, you are programming your subconscious mind. As you create a clear mental picture of the body of your dreams, you are employing the power of visualization to manifest the body of your dreams. Your subconscious mind becomes more receptive to your desires when they are charged with strong emotion. When you conjure up the vision AND the feeling of your desire, you activate the vibration of your desire and the Universe responds with the manifestation.

Visualization Exercise. Sit or recline comfortably. Close your eyes and take a few long slow deep breaths. Focus on your breathing as you enter into a quiet meditative state. Allow distractions and idle thoughts to float on by. Relax and breathe. As you relax, begin painting a picture in your mind of the body you desire. See yourself already living in this fabulous shape. Visualize your desire as clearly as you can. As you paint the picture, sink deeply into the feeling place of your desire. Deeply FEEL yourself living in your ideal body. Envision the body you truly desire with strong emotion.

See yourself as vividly as possible living your amazing life in your amazing body. Visualize yourself in your ideal body at your ideal weight and experience it as if it exists now. Make this picture so real that you actually feel thin and fit and gorgeous. See the way you look, feel, act, and speak. See what exhilarating activities you're engaged in and see who you're enjoying them with. See and feel your body with great emotion exactly the way you want it to be. Imprint this picture in your mind. After a few minutes of intensely experiencing your desire, take a deep breath and slowly open your eyes.

Hold The Vision of Your Perfect Body. Two excellent times to visualize are as you're drifting off to sleep at night and as you're waking up in the morning. In those times, you're in a state of allowing - relaxed and focused inward. It's helpful to continue to visualize throughout the day as well. When you continue to see yourself as a thin person, your subconscious mind will move you into actions that align with the vision you hold. Replay this mental image every chance you get. See and feel yourself looking fit and feeling fine. So, go ahead, visualize your perfect body. Visualize Yourself Thin!

Easy Weight Loss - How to Think Yourself Thin

You want to be thin, but every time you look in the mirror, you see the reflection of someone who needs to lose weight. Did you know that you can actually think yourself thin?

Weight loss has a lot to do with exercise and diet, of course, but it also includes your thought process. If you think of yourself as being fat, you will most likely fulfill that expectation for yourself. If, however, you start considering yourself to be thin, you will find yourself thinking like a thin person. And that includes exercising and eating like a thin person.

There are hundreds of different diet books on the market today and each one will tell you pretty much the same thing. The "secret" to dieting is really no secret. You have to eat less and exercise more. However, very few address the mental aspect of the diet process.

People who lose weight tend to still think of themselves as "fat." They dress like they are heavy and still think of themselves as being overweight. We often see ads where people are magically transformed from fat to thin and look great. However, it is sometimes difficult for people to make this transformation. This is a good part of the reason why many people who lose weight, gain it back. It is because they "thought themselves fat."

Begin thinking yourself thin right away. Read magazines and look at clothes that are designed for thinner people. Imagine yourself in a two piece bathing suit at the beach. Think of yourself as a thin person and as you continue to watch what you eat and exercise, you will notice the pounds coming off. As a matter of fact, this method makes the weight come off even faster because you are incorporating not only the physical aspect of weight loss into your routine, but the mental aspect as well.

Of course, no matter how hard or how long you 'think yourself thin', you're never going to lose an iota of weight if you go around gorging on French fries and gooey pastries. Be realistic!

Jon says that what pushes your body to gain wait is what you are eating. Food that has no essential nutrients, lack of sleep and stress all cause "a famine" in the body which the body conveys as weight gain rather than loss.

Jon discusses the reasons you are fat and blames your mind for it. He claims your body can determine how fat or thin you will be at any given time. Fighting against this logic will only make things worse. Learning to understand how it works will help convince your body that you want to be thinner.

In order to "make your body want to be thin" Gabriel promotes eating in a way that balances your insulin and leptin levels. Without telling you what you should or should not eat Gabriel suggests that organic, minimally processed and fresh foods are what your body is really craving and once you start to eat what your body wants rather than what your brain or emotional response to a situation dictates you to eat you will activate weight loss. The program also includes a meditation CD (which can be downloaded from his website) that encourages the reader to visualize their ideal body and think "yourself thin." The program also encourages exercise again with no strict guidelines. Just do activities that you enjoy and eventually you will start to love new things.

How to Feel Yourself Thin

Does this sound like you?

You've been trying to lose weight for years. Diet after diet has either given you limited success or failed you altogether. You can't seem to figure out how to get the scale to budge, even when you've been eating nothing but rice cakes and salads for weeks on end. In frustration, you decide you were just never blessed with "skinny genes" or maybe you fear that you've ruined your metabolism through years of dieting. Or worse, your concerned that a slow thyroid could be stalling your weight loss. You've worked out endlessly, cut out carbohydrates, starved yourself, and even contemplated diet pills.

Have you ever wondered if maybe there is an easier way?

I mean, think about it. Our bodies are these incredibly intricate miracles. They are precision-based mechanisms designed to perform incredible feats in each moment. Regenerating cells, unconsciously blinking to protect our eyes, beating our hearts, pumping our blood, sending white blood cells to heal us, clearing out toxins, and digesting whatever crazy thing we put into it. Our bodies are constantly orchestrating perfectly timed and correlated events to keeps us alive.

If our bodies are so capable of operating themselves and finding their own balance, why does finding our ideal weight seem to be so elusive?

I believe the answer is simple. Our bodies are constantly responding to the stream of thoughts, images, and feelings we send to them all day long. When we go to a scary movie, our bodies can't tell that there is no genuine threat. Our hearts beat faster, our hands get clammy, and the blood rushes to our limbs. We shoot out adrenaline as if we're the ones being terrorized on the screen.

To test this idea, imagine yourself eating a lemon. Vividly imagine cutting the lemon, smelling its tart aroma, then taking a lemon wedge and squeezing the juice into your mouth. Imagine the sour taste of the lemon.

Notice anything? Mouth watering? From feeding your mind the image of you eating the lemon, your body has released the amount of saliva that would be secreted if you were actually eating the lemon.

What does this have to do with weight loss, you might ask?

Everything.

Our bodies are also responding to the image of its shape and size that we feed it. If we imagine ourselves as overweight with a slow metabolism, low energy, and unable to lose weight easily, just like with the lemon, our body assumes its true and goes to work to make it happen by slowing our metabolism and holding onto weight. So when we constantly judge our plump body in the mirror or weigh ourselves obsessively only to find we're gaining weight, we are actually feeding our body the image of ourselves as bigger.

The good news is that the reverse is also true. If we begin to regularly imagine ourselves living in the thin bodies of our dreams right now, with lightning fast metabolisms, thin and toned muscles, and high energy, our body assumes this is here already and so it goes to work to make that happen. That's right. It speeds up our metabolism, makes us easily burn fat, and even gets us moving more often because we've imagined ourselves with high energy!

Taking this a step further: If you have heard of The Secret, you have heard about "The Law of Attraction" which says that whatever we focus on, we attract more of it into our lives. When we focus on the feelings of wealth, we attract more wealth. When we focus on the feelings of finding true love, we attract true love. The Universe literally magnetizes to us anything that matches what thoughts and emotions we are habitually sending out.

So, if you begin to feed yourself the thoughts, images, and feelings of already being someone who has your ideal body and you do it often enough, you will literally begin to attract the circumstances that will help to make that happen for you. For instance, you may attract just the right eating plan that works for your body type. You may attract the exact workout program that gives your body the fastest results. You may even attract someone close to you inviting you hiking more often. This is the Law of Attraction in action.

As a Law of Attraction coach, I have seen hundreds of my clients create gorgeously thin, toned, and healthy bodies by changing the thoughts, images, and emotions they send out to the Universe on a consistent basis. They began feeling thin before they were thin. They would imagine themselves in the size dress they wanted to wear before they could fit into it. They would imagine themselves performing challenging physical activities with grace and ease. And their bodies listened! By vividly imagining already living in the bodies of their dreams on a consistent basis, it seemed that their bodies gently started to morph into the image that the client was holding of their gorgeous figure!

The Universe then moved heaven and earth to make the weight loss happen. It all became easy and natural. It no longer felt like these clients were knocking their heads against a wall just to lose a couple of pounds. They would attract the right news article, discover the right eating program for their body, find the right book for them, or join the right gym, etc. I have seen people create the exact bodies they wanted after nothing else seemed to work. (How could it work when our bodies kept responding to the overweight images we kept feeding them)?

I have many exercises for those who want to lose weight using the Law of Attraction.

Here is one of them. It's called "The Sculpture Game."

This game involves imagining the feelings you would experience if you had your ideal figure already.

Close your eyes. Put your arms in front of you and vividly imagine touching a sculpture of yourself with your ideal body. If you are feeling your body as thinner, feel the details of your slender face, your well-defined cheekbones. Feel your arms thinner and more toned, feel your hip bones. If you want to manifest more muscles, imagine feeling your toned biceps and your strong legs. Feel your curves and angles, as if you were really touching them right now. What does it feel like? Feel the skin across your stomach, your chest, your neck. Do this long enough until you feel a very real emotional response. Do it until you feel your body chemistry shift into the joy of having this body you love. Hold on to this feeling for as long as you can.

If you are feeling creative you may even want to buy some clay and sculpt your ideal body. Remember to have fun with this. It doesn't have to be a masterpiece; it just has to help you get into the feeling place of having the body you desire.

Play the sculpture game every day for thirty days and your body will start responding by morphing into the self image you are feeding it. The Universe will respond by bringing into your life the exact resources and information that will make it easy for you to create the body you love!
