To learn if it's really true and to understand better if Alex Maroko's program is actually for you lets talk about the pros and cons of this product.

Effective Ball Handling Program 2.0 Review - The Pros And Cons

The Pros

Very Comprehensive Program

One of the biggest advantages of the Effective Ball Handling Program 2.0 by Alex Maroko is the fact that it is a very comprehensive training program which is based on proven techniques and actually contains all the components needed to take your game to the next level.

Some of the highlights of this program are the great video library that contains over 100 videos of every drill, move or combination you need to know and the "Stretch Your Vertical Program" eBook which can help you to increase your vertical jump and to improve your overall game much faster.

The Testing Days Approach

Another good thing about Alex Maroko's program is the unique "testing days" approach, where you must complete a specific set of strategic drills and exercises before moving on to the next level.

Every one of these testing days comes at the end of each 4-week cycle and the great thing about this unique approach is that by following this approach you make sure your handles are not just getting better, but actually getting better in a specific way that always translates over to games.

You Can Start The Program Even Today

The Cons

Some Work And Concentration Are Required

One thing you should remember about The Effective Ball Handling Program 2.0 is that it is not any kind of "magic pill".

As with almost any other sport, some work and concentration are required from your part if you really want to get the best results out of this program, and although the fact that there is no need to practice obsessively, take into account that you won't take your game to the next level without putting in at least two hours of work every week.

Effective Ball Handling Program 2.0 Review - The Bottom Line

Overall, The Effective Ball Handling Program 2.0 by Alex Maroko is one of the most popular training programs for basketball players online for a good reason and any basketball player who want to gain incredible speed and quickness and to take his game to the next level can benefit from Alex Maroko's program.

However, don't forget that this program is not a "magic bullet" and if you think you can improve your skills and take your game to the next level without hard work and dedication then don't waste the money, this program is not for you.

On the other hand if you are willing to put in some work and follow the exact directions from Alex Maroko then you are probably going to get great results with this program.

I Hope that found this Effective Ball Handling Program 2.0 review to be useful for you, all the best!

Alex is an example himself - he transformed himself to a dribbling trainer, coaching other players now.

Alex shows you all dribble techniques in videos; he practices them himself, so that you see how they should be practiced in order to effectively improve your game.

The best basketball players on the planet -- Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, and Chris Paul -- have mastered the basic skills. But there is one skill that any non-center must possess if they want to make it at the next level.

Let me give you a hint, it's not dunking. Nor is it passing, though that greatly increases the chances of your team winning. It's not even a massive vertical leap. Steve Nash is a gravity slave but managed two MVP awards. Still guessing? It is the ability to dribble and handle the basketball.

Alex Maroko recently released an incredibly simple, yet complete system called Effective Ball Handling. Despite the simple sounding name, the results are quite the contrary. The Effective Ball Handling System is designed to help basketball players develop speed dribbling while maintaining control. If you haven't seen any of the videos of creator Alex Maroko demonstrating his skills, I suggest you check that out. Actions speak much louder than words.

But what do we know about Alex Maroko?

He was cut from his basketball team at 13 years of age. By age 15, after two years of solid work and training, he was a master dribbler and a freelance trainer. How did he go from on the outs to playing college basketball in Florida? Alex credits his success to hard work and an incredible handle. And he shares his secrets in his 20-week course, Effective Ball Handling.

What can you expect to get in the Effective Ball Handling Program?

A 20-week program of drills and exercises
A complete library detailing all exercises and drills
A warm-up and cool down program
Several bonuses to make your mind sharper and raise your overall basketball game
A 60-day, ironclad guarantee that you'll get better in 60 days or you can ask for a refund

Have you been struggling to improve your dribble? Are you unable to blow by guys on the break or in the half court?

Why not make the decision today to improve your game today...to literally put the ball in your hands. Few people choose to be successful, making excuses or simply delaying choices. Don't make excuses. Make a choice to improve your basketball game forever.

Need a better handle for basketball? Get crazy dribbling skills from speed dribbling master, Alex Maroko, and "go inside" his revolutionary Effective Ball Handling Program.

I've been out there looking for the effective ball handling program for one of my sons. He's young and is a budding talent on his team but in order to start gathering attention and start maybe attracting scholarships we took a long look at his game and decided that he had some areas where he needed to improve. We've drilled and planned consulted with area coaches informally and have even thought about some basketball camps. The thing is that we felt like we could do most of it on our own so here's what we did, we made a list. We call it the Guard Skills list and thought its been a good guide for us so maybe it would be a good guide for you as well.

Here's the list that all guards need in order to shine at the local youth level.

#1 A Basic Crossover

This is the most effective way to create space for yourself when your man is straight up on you. Some guys have a natural quick step like Rajon Rondo of the Celtics, however most of us are not born with his freakish ability to command the floor with his speed. Get yourself a crossover, don't use it every time, but have it ready when you need that extra tick in order to get done what you need done.

#2 Dribble Drive Penetration

Think Chris Paul or Steve Nash here. This is a skill where you poke holes in the defense seeing where they will collapse and where you can penetrate. The idea is to find the soft spot and drive the hoop, but more often than not, when help comes, he's leaving his man open for you to kick it out to for an unaltered shot. Don't be stupid here, just learn to drive with the ball, good things happen when you go towards the rim.

#3 Being Able to use Both Hands

This one should be obvious, but pay attention in any high school game and you'll see guys who can't use their weakside hand. This makes them easy to defend. Develop your weak hand and watch what this does for the rest of your game.

#4 The fundamentals of the Pick and Roll

Every team runs a version of this classic. The big man sets a pick, the point guard dribbles around the picked defender causing him to switch to the Point guard. Meanwhile the big man has released the defender and rolled down into the lane where he receives the lob pass 2 feet from the basket. Its brilliant and effective. Because every team runs a variation of this set, know at least one because like I said, every team runs a version of this!

#5 The Ability to Command the Floor

Some guys are afraid to make a mistake. Some guys are too shy and timid to rise to the occasion. Don't be those guys. Get the call from the coach, call it out to your teammates, and get out there and make it happen. You are the point guard, you are the coach on the floor, you are the mouthpiece. Learn to effectively use it. You are an extension of the coach on the floor and it is up to you to get the guys to run the way you need them to. This takes confidence and reps.

#6 Spot up Jump Shots

#7 Playing on Through Contact

A Classic 3 point play is a great thing. The only way you are going to get it is if you can play through contact. This means hacks and hip bumps, blocking fouls and shirt tugging. The best ones absorb contact and make the shot anyway. Be tough minded and strong on your drives. Most importantly, you have to get to a place where you aren't afraid top get hit.

#8 Unselfishness

The extra pass is a good thing. Instead of popping a fast break three, get it to your big man down low and let him work. Assists are a wonderful thing as well. Be as good at passing as you are at shooting. Know where your guys like to receive the ball and try to get it to them there, even if it means that they get the star treatment.

#9 A Short Memory

Forget the turnovers and the misses. You don't have time to think about it. Kobe is the King of this. He might be shooting 4-14 but do you think he's going to stop? No way, he's Kobe Bryant, the next big play is the most important. This one takes effort because its easy to be passive when things aren't going right. Learn what it takes to will yourself on.

#10 Selfishness (when your team needs it most)

Sometimes you gotta be ice cold in your heart. When a big shot is needed sometimes you have to be the one who takes it. now's the time to break out that crossover to create some space and make that kid pay for his defense. Sometimes this is followed by the need for that short memory, but in crunch time, sometimes you need to demand that shot.

Here's the thing, this is a list that is full of opinions and ideas. You may have it listed in different priorities or you may disagree completely, however this is what we decided could help take my son to the next level. Here's what we found though, it wasn't enough. We needed some outside help, so here's what we did. We went out and found the program that most resembled our list and for us it was The Effective Ball Handling Program. It's been a relevation and a great help. Check it out yourself and watch your coaching and your players skills increase through The Effective Ball Handling Program [http://hubpages.com/hub/The-Effective-Ball-Handling-Program]

If you really want to become a complete player, your ball-handling must be a priority. I've used a lot of products, but this system, without question, is the most effective, off-season program that I've ever seen.

On my last article, I asked questions like about the important things you need to focus on in becoming the best player in the game of basketball. Which drills are the most beneficial in basketball? Which ones should you learn first? Which ones are a waste of time? Through lots of research, asking lots of questions, and studying several of the "so-called" best ball-handling programs out there, I was able to answer my own questions and put together an exhaustive list of every single effective ball-handling drill. I took even more time and graded every drill (A, B, C, D, and F), eliminated the D's and F's, and improved upon the C's and B's so that everything was an A+.

The next thing I knew, I had the very best, most effective, most game-improving drills ever assembled! I felt certain no one had a better list. But I wasn't satisfied. I wanted to make the list even better. So, I decided to put them in a logical order - an order of progression - where you learned and mastered the simple, most fundamental ones first. That way, you could build up from there. I knew that creating the correct foundation was important, and the most obvious way to improve over the long haul. Plus, having them in this progression-like order made it easier to figure out where to start based on skill level, and then which drill to do next.

In a basketball game, who gets the most "ooo..."s and "ahh.."s from the audience? It is usually the guards ball-handling past the defender! The Answer, The Flash, Stevy Franchise, and, Mr. Crossover get lots of those scoring a basket after ball-handling and faking their defenders totally out of position (you wonder what is totally out of position? By the time you complete this system, you will have the skills needed to beat the defense, break a press, create space for yourself to get an open shot, create better passing angles, and my favorite - escape a half court trap with a back pedal hesitation cris-cross, two-dribble spin, between the legs, back through, crossover jump shot - with the confidence, control, speed, and quickness of a superstar!

Here are some technique guidelines that need to be emphasized as you go through any type of ball-handling work out. You'll want to concentrate on following these 3 tips as you perform each drill because this is what will give you the greatest results possible.

Game-like Speed. It's important that your ball-handling skills transfer over into game situations so that every drill is done at game-speed. Pretend that you're in a game and there's a defense guarding you. Picture when and how you would use each of the dribbles in a real game. Having this mentality will put you ahead of 90%of those who are doing the same drills, because they're probably not doing it at full-speed. For the very best results, always train using game-speed intensity.

Explosive "First Step." Work on lengthening the amount of floor you cover with your dribble and making that first step count. In other words, go somewhere with your dribble. Don't do things in two dribbles that you can do in one. With every dribble, you should be trying to advance the ball and get it in a good offensive situation. Work on creating an opportunity and going somewhere with that first dribble. Make it "explosive!"You can create space from your defense with a hard, explosive, and effective first dribble. If there's no opportunity to go somewhere, then perhaps you shouldn't be dribbling the ball at all.

Pound the Ball. You can always tell who the strong ball handlers are. They're the ones who dribble with authority. Make sure to pound the basketball as hard as you can on every single drill. You have got to challenge your hands and fingers to get stronger with the ball. The reason every drill in the BHX System requires you to have a hard dribble is because the more time the ball spends in your hand, the more control you have of the ball. The harder you dribble, the quicker it gets back to your hand. So pound the

Fingertips. When dribbling the basketball, you'll often hear coaches emphasize using the fingertips. But that is sort of misleading. Yes, you do want to use your fingertips, but you should also be using the pads of your hands (the top part of your palm that is right below the fingers). Just make sure and keep it off the center of your palm.

As you start the dribble, the ball will work its way towards the ends of your fingertips, which will be the last part of your hand that is touching the ball. As the ball comes back up to your hand, your fingers should be spread, and your hand should act like a suction cup - staying on top of the ball and absorbing the ball back into your hand, which will give you much more control. Using your fingers and the pads of your palm will keep you from "slapping" the ball as you dribble.

I'm not old enough to remember the playing days of Pete Maravich, but I am young enough to know how to find his highlights on YouTube, and I must say.... they are inspiring. He was a guy who always used his imagination and had a drive to constantly challenge himself to improve. He learned how to handle the ball like no one else and it took him from a bench warmer to a super-star! I don't know whether or not Maravich was born with the phenomenal hand/eye coordination that he displayed on the court, but I do know that he could not have been born with the gift of superior ball-control - because there's no such thing. Ball-control is something you develop from hours and hours of practice and hard work.

Over the past several years, I have spent a lot of time reading, researching, and learning about how to teach and coach basketball. I've looked at hundreds of ball-handling drills, dozens of practice plans, bought several basketball skill development courses, subscribed to online basketball clinics, ran a winter "Youth Basketball Fundamentals Camp," and just completed my 5th year of coaching my two sons basketball teams. And if there is one thing that I've taken away from my experience... it's the importance of being able to handle the ball. Until you're able to really control the ball, nothing else really matters. But once the ball becomes like an extension of your own body, your entire game will change, giving you more options than you've ever had before. Regardless of how old you are, how fast you are, or how tall you are, becoming a better ballhandler puts you miles ahead of the competition.

You can't play if you can't handle the ball. It makes you more valuable to your team, allows you to execute the team offense, have more confidence, become more respected, and gives your coach a reason to make sure the ball is in your hands at the end of a close game.

So, how do you become the next Pete Maravich? Which drills did he do? Which ones are the guys like Superhandles and Gannon Baker doing? Which ones are on the Better Ball Handling DVD that features the child phenom Andy Garcia? Which ones are The Professor teaching and which ones are taught in the Effective Ball Handling Program? And out of all these, which ones are the most effective? Which ones focus on control versus quickness? Which ones are most beneficial in real game situations? Which ones should be learned first? And which ones are a waste of time?

A quick Google search will give you dozens and dozens of drills. But most of these are the same ones I learned as a kid, which unfortunately, were not very effective back then, and whether I like it or not, the game of basketball has changed. Along with speed, quickness, size, and strength, the rules of dribbling have also changed. Palming is no longer a violation like it once was. So, you need something new and improved, something more challenging than the dime-a-dozen, old school drills; something that focused on "finger-tip" control as well as more modern "ball-handling manipulation," because that's what's needed to take your dribbling skills to the next level.

The Effective Ball Handling Program is a program developed by Alex Maroko, a personal trainer and athletics coach for several years. He has worked with college basketball players, high school prep stars, and some of the biggest names in personal training. His credibility is really what helped me decide to give the program a shot.

In short, the effective ball handling program helped me a lot. I learned many new drills that helped me improve my own dribbling skills after just three weeks. What really made this program different from the others, at least for me, is that it it had a 20 week progression plan of drills and workouts that I could do. With other workout plans I had stopped at a certain point or just plateaued and been unable to see any improvements. Not with this. The progressions made sense and prevented me from reaching a point where I was burnt out or could not progress any more. Here is how I would break the program down:

Pros:
- A great progression plan with many different ball handling drills. Each drill also came with a video breakdown of how to do it, so I never felt lost.
- A unique warmup routine that helped me get ready to play before some of my big high school games.
- Testing days included in the program that let you see how much you have improved in the past few weeks since doing the program.
- Faster handles, which meant that I could play the game at a faster pace.
- Killer calf muscles.

Cons:
- One problem I had was that since I had the ability to dribble so much faster, I found that when I pulled up for jump shots my shot was consistently off. Since I came into the paint at a faster pace, I had trouble re-adjusting my shot and had to soften it a little bit.
- It is not a magic bullet and does take some work in order to really improve your ball handling.
- One chapter was dedicated to the female basketball player, which didn't help me at all.

Ball handling is one of the most important aspects of any good ballplayer's game. Without the ability to control the ball and drive to the hoop an individual will struggle and contribute little to the team. Here are the 3 most important keys to becoming a great ball handler:

1. Learn to dribble with your head up

Dribbling with your head up is one of the most important skills you can master. When you are on the court, you need to be able to look around and see all that is going on around you. Here is an easy drill you can do to work on keeping your head up:

Dribble the ball while alternating hands for 5 minutes while blindfolded. If you do not have a blindfold, try looking up at the sky. Whatever you do, be sure that you don't look at the ball. This drill will help you get a feel for the ball and learn how to control it without looking directly at it. To make this drill more challenging, try walking around and dribbling while blindfolded.

2. Dribble with your fingers, not your palm

Dribbling with your fingers instead of your palm helps you keep control of the ball more easily and allows you to dribble more quickly. To work on control, try this drill:

Holding the ball in front of you, start to pass it from hand to hand using only your fingertips. Start passing it at waist level, then slowly pass it back and forth until the ball is at eye level. Remember to only use your fingertips to pass back and forth, as this will help you develop the control you need to dribble well. Do this for about 10 minutes.

3. Learn how to speed dribble

The speed dribble is used mostly during fast breaks, when you are sprinting up the court and trying to push the pace of the game. It is very important to get this skill down, since transition offense is one of the best ways to score some quick points. To improve your speed dribbling try to practice this drill as much as possible:

Starting at half court, dribble as quickly as you can while sprinting towards the basket from the right side. As you get close to the basket, still at full speed do a layup with your right hand. After you get tired of doing this, switch sides and sprint at the basket from the left side and do a layup with your left hand. This drill should take about 10 to 15 minutes.

That's it! I hope you found these drills helpful, as they are probably the biggest reason for my improvement.

If you liked the drills, I learned them from the Effective Ball Handling Program, a program I bought a while back. If you want to check out my review of the program, go here: http://effectiveballhandlingprogram.net.
